Thank you to Old Chicago in North Kansas City (1920 Diamond Pkwy) for providing pizzas for teachers during NKCHS parent teacher conferences. The teachers really enjoyed the pizza!

Teacher Appreciation week is April 12-16. One of the many ‘Thank You’ celebrations we have planned is a Dessert Bar for Tuesday, April 13. You can help contribute by signing up here.
Last month the Asian Student Union celebrated the Lunar New Year and the Black Student Union celebrated Black History Month.
Both student unions decorated the halls of Northtown with festive and informational decorations to celebrate.
The Hornet Hive contributed $75 to each Student Union to help with their decorations.

The Hornet Hive held their first ever Pickleball tournament on Sept 14, 2020. This event was hosted by Chicken N Pickle and 10% of food sales were donated to the Hornet Hive. We had several teams sign up.
After all the rounds, Paul V. and Matt G. walked away as victors of the tournament. Congratulations Paul and Matt! Over $500 was raised from the Pickleball tournament and food sales that night.
The Hornet Hive works together to support students and staff at Northtown with the goal of creating and sustaining a positive school environment. The Hornet Hive supports more than 40 student groups and activities at North Kansas City High School.
Be on the lookout for communication about our helping with our next event on October 12, the Teacher’s Conference.
Homecoming week is here! Students have been working hard to plan activities and spread school spirit. We will be hosting the Belton Pirates for the Homecoming football game on Friday, September 27. Earlier that day, we’ll hold our all-school assembly and annual Homecoming parade. The parade route will pass through the North Kansas City neighborhoods that surround the school, and all are welcome to come out and watch!
Hornet Hive will be selling spirit wear at the football game! Stop by our table to check out all new gear and support all sports and activities at Northtown.
The theme for this year’s football game is GOLD OUT. Student Council has been fundraising all month to benefit St. Jude’s leading up to the game. Last year, over $2,300 was raised!
